I chose a helping profession because I have been profoundly helped by good people in my life. After failing in critical ways, I found myself in need of powerful relationships to figure out how to live a life I am proud of and enjoy. Because of what I experienced in my own pain, loss, embarrassment, and limitation, I have given my life to meet others in their pain, loss, embarrassment, and limitation. Having been broken in many ways myself, I have no judgment left in me for broken people.
